Baer is one of seven Indiana men named in an official navy department list of men held as prisoners of war by the Japanese, mostly in the Phillipine Islands. Baer, a hospital apprentioe, second class was listed early as miaSing but* more lately relatives had learned through the Red Cross that he was h prisoner.-V-
