May 26,2009.On Tuesday, May 26th, the RiverBend Growth Association and the City of Alton dedicated a new stretch of road, the CpI. Chris Belchik Memorial Expressway, in memory a fallen marine, CpI. Chris Belchik, who died in Iraq nearly five years ago.About 150 gathered at this road dedication to honor CpI. Chris Belchik and all those have given their life for our freedom.The former Indiana Avenue is now known as the CpI.
