Raymond H. MartinezRaymond H. Martinez, 58, 1046 College Lane, died June 22,1990, at Halstead Hospital, Halstead,He was born Aug. 31, 1931, at Hutchinson, the son of T.C. and Lucia Hernandez Martinez. He graduated from Hutchinson High School and attended Hutchinson Community Junior College for two years. He then received his bachelor’s degree from San Bernardino State University, San Bernardino, Calif., and earned his masters at Wichita State University. A Hutchinson resident since 1973, he worked for the Hutchinson Police Department before moving to Riverside, Calif., where he served as deputy sheriff. He returned to • Hutchinson in 1973, where he served as a training officer with the State of Kansas Law Enforcement Center.He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, South Hutchinson.On Sept. 8, 1956, he married Carol Martinez at Newton. She survives.Other survivors include: two sons, Hector, Phoenix, Ariz., and Rafael, Hutchinson: two daughters, Mary J. Harper and Kathleen A. Vieyra, both of Hutchinson; mother, Hutchinson; four sisters, Elamor Navarro, Beatrice Almanza, Jessie Viegra, all of Hutchinson, and Mary Augusto, Topeka; and four grandchildren.Rosary will be at 8 p.m. Sunday at Johnson and Sons Funeral Home, Hutchinson. Funeral Mass will be at 16:30 a.m. Monday at the church, with Father Colin Boor presiding. Friends may calk from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, and from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fair-iawn Cemetery,Memorials may be sent to the American Lung Association in care of the funeral home.
