He hns been reprimanded by the assistant secretary of the navy, and Des Moines papers say he hns stated that he does not expect to follow a naval career. Graduates of the Academy are commissioned as ensigns, the lowest rank in the navy and are usually assigned to some vessel for further experience. Olmsted, the man who is guilty of the conduct criticised, will probably be allowed to escape punishment by resigning his commission. The moneyexpended by the government upon hiseducation will, therefore, be wasted.
