Allemand, live at 5519 16th Ave., recently was promoted to sergeant first class while serving in Headquarters Detachment of the Army’s Central Command in Yokohama. Japan. A clerk in the adjutant general’s section, Sgt. Helgesen has served in the Far East since October of 1951. He is a veteran of 13 and one-half years of Army service and holds the Purple Heart and the Combat Infantryman badge.
