The mother thinking the matter had gone far enough, and to secure a separation of the girl from the doctor, came to the city and made a complaint before Justice Btace against the girl for lewd and lascivous conduct with the doctor. He at once furnished bail. These facts coming to the knowledge of her brother, he went to the doctor’s house and demanded that, he having ruined his sister, should not turn her out to become a public prostitute, but should marry her. Becoming exasperated, young Adams drew a revolver uud fired at the doctor, the ball passing through his arm and causing a painful but not serious wound.
