MARINE CORPSLamar Honree Thaxton, son of j Mr. and Mrs. Willie Luther Thaxton, Jackson route 4, was enlisted in the United States Marine Corps June 12, and lefttfor the marine barracks, Parris S. C., thefollowing day to Ystairt the regularcourse of recruit training. He wasenlisted at the district headquarters in Macon.Only men between the ages of 18 and 30 years, who have satisfactorily completed grammar school, and who are of good moral character and excellent physique may be enlisted in the Marines. ^
