First Caaieitoi Boy to Lose Lifeta France.News by telegram reached hismother, Mrs. Millie Fishback, on the evening of June 7th, thather son, Mike Fishback had onMay 27th lost his life in action on the French front, Luneviile sector. No particulars are given. The sudden 'shock completelyprostrated the mother, who lovedher son as she does her own life.Mike went out into the world some two years or more ago to earn his living and was at Harrin, 111., on April 3, 1917 when he volunteered his services to *;Uncle Sam*’.*1Ii11ttffiIIeAHe was sent to Ft. Soon after that date he was sent to New Jesse\ aud after ao short stay embarked for France,sarriving there about the middle of December.1I.oII5!He had been in active battle from April 1st to May 27th, onwhich latter date he lost his life on the field of honor, aged 22 years, past.He was a good soldier and a true American who when he saw that his country needed aid, volunteered his services, and in all his letters to his mother, he had no patience with drafted men in comparsion.j ^After his arrival in France his mother received seven letters j' flom him, all of which showed that lie was well and in good r spirits.
