Hickman To Run For Justice Of PeaceWilliam D. (Bill) Hickman, 27, has entered the race for the office of justice of peace in Precinct 7 in the July 27 Democratic primary election.Hickman, a resident of Nederland for the past 25 years, is a member of the Oil Workers International Union and the First Baptist church. He is married and has three children.During World War II Hickman was awarded the bronze star medal with an oak leaf cluster for service in the Battle of the Bulge and the combat infantry badge. His unit, the 26th infantry regiment of the First Division, received three battle stars.In announcing his candidacy, Hickman said he would, if elected, establish a non-residential office ‘ easily accesible to all people of Precinct 7.” H is platform also includes allegiance to no certain group and conducting his office “for the people of the precinct to whom it belongs.’’
