I made him as comfortable I a possible, and then throwing away his I un prepared to rejoin my com-1 ades. ; Jost then the memorable I streat began and I was hurried Itack with our men. The place where I toor Moore lay was within the newly I ormed rebel lines, and I gave him np I a lost.. As we were retreating gallant j hil Sheridan came dashing down the I dghway and in a moment the linos had I e-formed and the Army of the Shenn-1 loah was following its leader to snatch lotory from defeat.Again we occupied our old position, ind I learned after the battle that Moore iad been found whore I had laid him. 3e was taken to a field hospital and in ;he next day’s report b!s name was in the list of mortally wounded.UI heard nothing from Moore nntii Wednesday. Several times after the war at post meetings and pther gatherings I have spoken of Moore and of the service I did him jost before his death. My mind was never disabused of the idea and when I met him alive I was greatly surprised. Vbf u I cached the grounds on Wednesday one of my comrades introdoeed Comrade Moore and being afraid that he might have made a mistake, I questioned him closely and learned to my delight that Moore was the same man 1 had left on the field as Cedar Creek.”. Mallett and Mr* Moore had an enjoyable that and rejheawed their ex*periences with great gusto.Mr. Mallett told how until a short time before the reunion he had believed his companion dead, and Mr. Moore rehearsed his experiences after the {war.After recovering from his wouends he was sent to his home in Syracuse,1 where he now. lives. He Is a builder at present and is doing welL -Mr. MUett and Mr. Moore were both under twenty years of §ge when they enlisted. /The former is a brother of Major Mallett, of Washington.
