Reed and will be returned to Ottumwa tonight and placed in the Wapello county Jail awaiting a hearing tomorrow, on the [ oblige of falling to register on Tuesday, June 5.A sheriffs poese arrested fifteen of the group yesterday at the Strebyvlllo mine near Centerville and the remainder were taken last night and this morning at scattering places throughout that vicinity. The men. at first threatened resistance but later made no trouble.Strict investigation of “slackers through this district will be made by the federal officers and more arrests are expected to follow, it Is supposed that the Appanoose county group failed to register because they did not understand the law.
