Maj.Gen. Earle% E. Partridge, who has been visiting'his wife and daughters in San Antonio, wilt terminate his leave Saturday when he will be one of the generals honored at an elaborate victory eelebrat'on in Los Angeles, Calif.The former commander of the 3rd Air Division of the 8th Airforce arrived in the United States May 24. Scheduled to be picked up in San Antonio and flown to Los Angeles later in the week by Lt.Gen. James Doolittle, Partridge will report for reassignment following the- California: celebration,A native of Winchendon, Mass., Partridge grew up in Ashby, Mass. He was graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1924, As-Zilmon i. Boothe Services PlannedFuneral services will be conducted Thursday at 10 -a. m. for Zilmon Jones Boothe, 66, of 818 Ogden St., who died Monday in a San Antonio hospital. Boothe was a native of Gonzales and had resided in San Antonio 21 years. He was a retired federal employe.Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Augusta1 Rochelle Boothe; two sons, Z. J. Boothe Jr., San Antonio, and Lt. W. R. Boothe of the U.S. Army; a daughter, Mary Frances Boothe, San Antonio;, a ' brother, George Boothe, Waco; three sisters, Mrs. C. C. Smith and Mrs, Frank Houston, of Gonzales, and Mrs. H. L. Hopkins, San Antonio, and two-grandchildren., signed to- the air corps, lie re-’ ceived his flight training at Brooks and Kelly fields. Follow* ing his .graduation from Kelly as a pilot, Partridge served with an attack group at the field for a year. He then served as an instructor at the base until 1929.At the outbreak of the present war, the genera] was assigned to the Air War Plans Division of headquarters of the A.A.F. in Washington, D. C. In March,1942, he was transferred to the War Department General Staff.Going *to North Africa in April,1943, with General Doolittle, Partridge served with the 12th Bomber Command of the 15th A.A.F. where lie took part in the Sicilian, Tunisian and Italian campaigns.Transferred to England Jan 3.1944, General Partridge was appointed deputy commander of the 8th A.A.F., a position he held until assuming command of the 3rd Air Division in June, 1944.During 25 months* foreign service, broken only by a short official visit to Washington, D. C.t in December, 1943. General Partridge has been awarded the Dis* tinguished Service Medah, the Bronze Star, the • Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, the French Legion of Honor, Grade of Officer, and the Croix de Guerre with two Palms.His father, w. H. Partridge, resides in Fitchburg, Mass., while his wife, the former Katherine Holder, and his two daughters, Patricia, 13, and Kay, 8, reside at 911 W.
