Army, Vassalboro brothers, were recently home on furlough at the time. Cpl. Perry Gilbert issameanjpl. Perry __________instructdr at Fort Belvolr, Va. Pvt. Gilbert has just finished his basic training at Camp Croft, South Carolina. After his furlough, Pvt. Gilbert started for Pdrt Ord, Calif., but was taken ill en route and was sent to a hospital at Ft. Myers, Va. Cpl. Gilbert was able to visit him while he was there.Cj« Gilbert and Pvt. Gilbert are brothers of Mrs. Alton Porter of Rivemide, Both men are married and have families.Mr. and Mrs. Porter also have two 'sons in the service of the U. S. ArJhv—Arthur Porter, who is at an ordnance base in France, and Pfc. Emmons Porter, who was In Germany according to last letters received. Pfc. Emmons was recently awarded the Infantryman’s Combat Badge.Another soldier In the Porter family is Sgt Alton Jaqulth, who married Doris Porter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs Afton Porter. Sgt. Jaquith, who has seen overseas duty, Is at present hospitalized in Chicago. He has also been home on furlough recently,
