Czarnikow, of Vrona, son of Bob Czarnikow, a prominent Cherokee citizen of this county, who had been previously reported killed in action against fhe enemy in France was alive and that the report of his dekth was erroneous.This report was taken from other papers .reporting the circumstances, and has been found to have been a mistake. •%#Mr. Bob Czarnikow was in this city Tuesday and showed us a letter fromthe American Red Cross headquarters at Washington, D. C., stating that their agents in France1 reported that Joel Czarnikow was killed in the driveon St. Mihiel, September 14th, 1918.\He was. killed just at dark as the American army had halted in their driveto dig in for the night. A high explo-•sivc shell burst in the trence and young* Czarnikow was instantly killed, according to their report.I •-o-
