Former Judge Keith Hubbard, a lifelong friend of- the Powell family, spoke with emo-- tion of each member of the family.Mrs. Violet Powell gave a readingof “Our Flag,” and Mrs. Rusten raised the flag to the top of the pole. The reading was appropriate as seven of the Powell sons answered the call to colors during World War II and an eighth was awaiting induction as peace came.Members of the immediate family of George W. and Addie Powell who attended the ceremony, along with their spouses, were Fred and Lorraine Powell, Bill and Ruth Powell Murgatroyd, George and Lillian Powell, Max and Betty Powell, Fred and Sophie Powell Sheffield and Adrian and Wanda Powell.Other family members presentwere Jeri Powell; Helen Powell; Buell Powell; Beverly and Gene Dawdy; Joan Powell; Violet Powell; Jane and Ron Early; Jay Early; Kathy Early Davidson; Judy and Denton Rusten; Hallie Rusten Fry, Erinn and Nathan; Jim and Janet Powell, Lynn, Sara, Jimmy and John; Sue and Dwayne Scott, Kyle and Mark; JoAnn Car-mean, Lori and Heidi; Steve Sheffield and Patrick, Gail, and Martin Klimko and Mike Powell.Deceased members of the immediate family of the Powells are Arthur, Charlie, Floyd, John, Bud and Earl.
