(Special)—Sixth juror was selected in the murder trial of W. T. (Buddy) Knight of Wichita Falls just before the noon recess Wednesday.She is Mrs. Cecil Brown, wife of a rancher from the south part of Stephens County.Mrs. Brown is the second woman to be selected.About half of the 75 veniremen calleu Wednesday were given*by the detonation of a high explosive shell in .France during World War I.. Namesake of pioneer Burke Burnett, Taylor has spent his entire life in and near Wichita Falls.He was born Aug. 31, 1895,across the river in OklahomaTerritory. His father worked forBurnett who ranged cattle ongreat areas on both sides of Red River.Taylor went into France as a member of the Fifth Marines and participated in perhaps the most bitter battles of World War I. He emerged safe from the terrific fighting at Belleau Woods, where the Marines helped halt the German drive on Paris, but was injured later at Soissons.A high explosive shell detonated near Taylor’s unit, killing perhaps a dozen men and injuring others. He was in hospitals for many months after the blast.The Wichitan holds several citations from the French government. He is a deacon in Fain Memorial Presbyterian Church and a member of Pat Carrigan Post of the American Legion.His wife,, the former Miss Gladys Wilson, also is a pioneer Wichitan, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry E. Wilson. Her father was an early day saddle-maker here and in later years had extensive farm and ranch holdings.The Taylors have two children, a son, Joe Edward Taylor, who saw service in the Navy -during the Korean war, and a daughter, Mrs. M. Houston Pearce; and two grandchildren, all of whom reside in Wichita Falls.
