KUHARSKI: Louis Walter Kuharski passed away in Brandon on May 25, 1994. Louis was born in Polonia, MB on May 15, 1918. He joined the Armed Forces in 1941 and was discharged in 1945 after which he took up farming. He married Laura Bilkoski in 1942 and the family farmed in the Brookdale district until 1955 when they moved to Brandon. Louis’ later career was in greenskeeping with local golf courses, the most recent being North Hill and Deer Ridge, until his retirement. He was predeceased by his parents, sisters Verna and Nellie and brothers Stanley, John, Frank and Joe. Louis is survived by his wife Laura, sons Ron tMargaret) and Brian (Kim), sisters Mary and Pearl, brothers Tony and Eddie and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Following cremation a funeral mass was held at St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church on Monday, May 30, with Fr. Louis McCloskey officiating. Private interment of the cremated remains will take place at a later date. Honorary pallbearers were Frank Kuharski, David Bilkoski, Donald Bilkoski, Jim Whitney, Ray Relf and Jim Homimck. Memorial donations may be made to the CNIB, 354 Tenth Street, Brandon R7A 4G1 or to a charity of choice. Arrangements were in care of Rosewood Memorial Chapel.
