Camera fans, amateur and professional, -will find dozens of opportunities for black-and-white and color pictures next Sunday, June 9, at the annual Muster Day at Old Sturbridge Village, New England's center of living history. Parades will begin at noon.Muster Day symbolizes the tra-“ditional militia musters of 150 years ago when all able-bodied men turned out on the town common 1o answer roll call and bo counted. Those who failed 1o attend were fined.A special feature this year will be the raising of a Liberty pole on the Green at the re-created country town. Liberty poles were widely known before and after the Revolutionary War and were symbols of defiance to British rule. When the pole is raised by militiamen, one of their number wiii shimmy up and place a Liberty cap atop it.Alt military units will be Attired in the colorful uniforms of the Revolutionary War and the War of 1S12 period. Ancient and honorable organizations participating this year Include the Mat-tatuck Drum Band of Waterbury, Cnnn; the Lexington (Mass.)
