GEO. V. STRONG BECOMESA LIEUTENANT COLONEL(’amp X#ewis, Wash., June 1.—An-nouneement was made at division headquarters of the promotion of Major George V. Strong, division judge advocate to lieutenant colonel, dating from March this year.Major Strong was appointed to West Point, from Helena, Montana, In August, 1900, graduating in June, 1904, and being assigned as a second lieutenant to the Sixth cavalry.He was made first lieutenant in tin* same organization in March, 1911, and became a captain in the Sixth cavalry in June, 1910. In May, 1917, he became a major judge advocate.W. It. Strong, also of Helena, and a brother of Lieutenant C olonel Geo. V. Strong, is now range officer at (’amp Lewis witli the rank of first lieutenant. Lieutenant Strong is a graduate of the second training camp at The Presidio, San Francisco, and was assigned to duty at Camp Lewis soon after receiving his commission. Not long ago, by reason of his previous training as a member of the National Rifle association, he was made range officer and has discharged the arduous and important duties of that position in a manner that elicited high praise from his superior officers. Mrs. Strong is now residing in Tacoma, Wash.
