We sighted land this morning about three a.m. and have been running along the side of the shore ever since. There is some very pretty scenery along the Irish coast, green fields, hills, mountains, anil straight wall of rock, witli a small town to he seen here and there. The escort met us last night at six o’clock, four destroyers. We coubl see them coming from the right, first the low masts were visible, but in a feu minutes (they were coining at full speed) we could see them quite plainly. They are so small and low that when they hit a wave you can’t see anything hut a bank of foam. It was a fine sight to see them, one heading for each boat. As soon as they were stationed beside each troopship, we put on ail steam and made for Liverpool. The cruiser went out of sight during the night, while in the morning the Empress of Britain was just visible In front and the Me tagama in the rear, but now we Cannot see either of them.We are landing late tonight in Liverpool. Everything is packed and ourequipment all put together, so that when we dock we are all ready to leave the boat. Well, the boys are falling in for physical drill so must go. Fooled again! it was for inspection of packs, which jB now over and us mine was O.K. I did not have to repack it.Major Carlisle just told us we would be in Lievrpool in four hours so that wont take long. The time here is just six hours ahead of Brandon time, some of us left oar watches the same as when we left Brandon.
