Shown above are Richard aid Levi Brumbaugh, sons of D. M. Brumbaugh of Saxton; Blair.Brumbaugh, son of Daniel B. Brumbaugh of Saxton; West ley E. Brumbaugh, Jr., son of Westley E. Brumbaugh of Akron, Ohio and grandson of D. M. Brumbaugh of Saxton; and Charles Saylor, scn-in-law of D. At. Brumbaugh.Boatswain's Mate Richard enlisted in the Navy on December 18, 1911 and look in's booot train-i«'g at Newport, Rhode Island. He was then sent to San Francisco and later sailed from there. He lias served in eleven major battles. In February 19-14 he was home on a twenty-day leave. He graduated from Saxton ' Liberty School in 1937 and was employed at the Jcnes Laughlin Steel Company in Pittsburgh, when he enlisted in the Navy.Pfc. Levi entered the Army on November 1913 and took his basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and at the present time is located at Camp Reynolds, Penna. Levi is in the engineering division of the Army. He is a graduate of Saxton Liberty High School in 1926 and lived in r lorida for thirteen years. He w'as in the State Forestry there. His wife still resides in Florida.Sgt. Blair of the Parachute Division was inducted into the Army on January IS, 1912 and took his basic training at Fort Benning, Georgia and at FortWESTLEY BRUMBAUGH, JR.SGT. CHARLES SAYLOBragg, North Carolina. From there he was sent overseas and served in the Sicilian campaign and in the Ite Han invasion. He was wounded ~t Naples on December 19, 1913 and sent back to North Africa for a month. He then returned to Italy and served on the Afzio Beachhead but is now in England. Blair graduated from Saxtcn Liberty High School in 1936 and was employed at Jones Laughlin Steel Company before he was inducted.Westley E. Brumbaugh, Jr., entered the service in November1943 and is now serving ii South Pacific area •'Skip.-*’ , is better known, attended £ in Akron and worked at Goodyear Piant in- Akron, wife and two children resilt; Akron.Sgt. CharL-s Sai'lor is a ber of the ground - group o Army Air Force. He isstal at Mathep Field, Californu attended school in Aitocna worked in the Altoona Shop entered the Army on Jun 1912.
