M.—State to Pay Bills.Des Moines.—The Iowa National guard has ‘been called into service and have been mobilized at the home stations of the various companies.All units which had not taken the “state oath have become a part of the big Hawkeye state army. More than 2,000 state troops already in federal service, on guard duty at various points, will not be affected by the order. They will continue their present -duties until all troops entrain for Deming, New Mexico.It is believed that Iowa militiamen will entrain for Deming about August 1. There will be no concentration of all troops in this state, according to unofficial information. Special coaches will pick up various units at their home stations, and these will be attached to special trains when the men are ordered to the southern training camp.The entire Iowa National Guardand all militiamen of other states will be “drafted” into federal service August 5.No definite instructions have been received by Iowa military authoritiesGUARD EQUIPMENT ON WAYf♦ -iReports From Washington IndicateThat Camp Equipment Will BeReceived Soon-Des iMoines.—Iowa’s 3,GOO national guard recruits will receive a large part of their camp equipment within part of their camp equipment very soon, advices from the war depart-dicate.The adjutant general was notified, cots, blanks.j and bedsacks will be forwarded jgs soon as the war department is advised of Iowa’s requirements. The information went forward recently. The adjutant general’s office estimates 3,600 outfits will be required to equip all troops.Mess gear for 3,600 men are reported to be already on the way. Between 2,000 and 3.000 pairs of shoes and service hats have just arrived and will be issued to the recruits as soon as possible.The war department has not indl-♦cated when it will forward uniforms rifles and other fighting equipment.The mess gear now en route consists of eating utensils, including food plates, cups, knives, forks and spoons. The bed sacks are filled with straw and are used for sleeping purposes when the soldiers are not in concentration camp.
