Third Army, the SOS Tank Destroyer Battalion has good reason to be content with their M36 “ Slugger” tank destroyers.During a past month's operations, the battalion haslost none of their “Sluggers,” mounting the 90-mm. gun, while their score against the enemy has been 12 Mark V and Mark IV Nazi tanks.BROTHERS MEETS. Sgt. Harold I. (Rosie) Moore drove 280 miles in Germany recently to visit bis brother, Sgt. Milton E. Moore.This was the first meeting ofthe brothers in two and a halfyears.The former expects to return home to be discharged underThe latterathe point system, will arrive home soon on80 day furlough.They have two other brothers in service. Pfe. Walter Moore in the Hawaiian Islands and Hubert Moore. F. 2r, who is attending engineering school at Great l.akes.They are sons of Mr. and Mrs. George Moore, 1916 Avenue I.KILLED IN SERVICECpl. Howard D. Groves, 2 2, reported killed in the South Pacific July 4, 1 94 4. Joining the Marines in Feb.. 1941, he fought at Guad-aeanal and Taawa. His mother,Mrs. Louise Biinker, West Point, Iowa, RFD 2 has received the Purple Heart and Presidential Unit Citation, posthumously awarded Cpl. Groves., eHOME FROM SAIPANFirst Lt.
