PFC Gene E. Wehner, son of Paul F. Wehner, 1110 24th Ave. SW, was assigned to the 2d Armored Division at Fort Hood, Tex., July 2. The 19-year-old soldier, a medical aid-man in Company D of the 2d Armored Division’s 48th Medical Battalion at Fort Hood, entered the Army in August 1963. He completed basic traiining at8 AUSTIN (Minn.) HERALD Thursday, July 22, 1965Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. Wehner was graduated in 1963 fromAustin High School. Before entering the Army, he was associated with Paul's Welding Shop in Austin.Seaman Ronald Miller isspending a 15 - day leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Le-Roy Miller, St. Ansgar, Iowa. He will report for duty Aug. 2. at San Francisco, Calif. He has been stationed at Key West, Fla.
