If you did, it is incumbent on you totake the following stops for youreelf in connection with the selectivedraft:Find out the number of the exemption district in which you live; Kind out where the headquarters of the Exemption Board for thatdistrict are located;Find out whether you have been given a new number by the localboard, aud if bo, what the number i»;Find out when the numbering will be completed, if it Is not already complete, and learn your number at the earliest moment;Find out, as Boon as the ‘‘drawing’' takes place in Washington, whether your number was drawn;Find out where to present youraelf if your number was drawn, irrespective of whether you receive notice by mail or not;Present yourself on the date specified to the local hoard, no matter whether you think you are phyalcally fit or not;If you are going to claim exemption, make your preparations early,because your flaim must be flic 1 with the local board within sevenda* after you are called;And remember: it IS UP TO YOU!You are not exempt, no matter who or what you are, until you havebeen examined;You cannot be exempted or discharged until you have demanded exemption or discharge;You are not exempted automatically because you are married, or because of your occupation;You may find yourself suddenly ordered to a training camp orbranded hk a deserter unless you sue to it that you comply with all these legal requirements.
