To CpL Thad Vreeiand, now homo on Imti, has boon awarded the follow citation:Headquarter* XIII Corpo U. S. Army. Award of the Bronze Star Medal. Citation.Corporal Thad Vreeiand. Jr.. (ASN 39571077), Chemical Warfare Service, 89th Chemical Mortar Battalion, United Statee Army, for distinguishing himself by heroic achievement in connection with military operations against the enemy in Germany on 24 March, 1945. During an intense enemy artillery barrage, which severed vital communication lines between the fire direction center and his platoon. Corporal Vreeiand disregarded his own safety, and repaired the lines, although in full view ef the enemy.
