A Card.Eds. Com:—It will be remembered by many of your readers that on the 17th of February, 1862,1 was fined‘by a court martial held at Bacon Creek, Ky., for writing a letter over the signature ofo o“Jargo Nelhliz,” in exposition of the inhuman treatment inflicted upon the members of the 37th Indiaua regiment by Col. Hazzard, then in command. This letter was published in the Cincinnati Commercial of January 9th.' The fine assessed was “six months’ pay proper,” amounting to §420. On the last pay day we were paid for five months, and §350 was retained by the Paymaster on my fine. “The boys’’ objected to the thing being left in that shape, and the following card handed to me after I had got upon the cars to come home with their money, will show their sentiments more fully:Bro.
