Robert Marvin, Former Mayor, Leaves YardDetachment of Lt/ Comdr. Robert Marvin, USNR, former mayor of Portsmouth, from the „ Portsmouth Navy yard for temporary duty in the Third Naval district was announced this morning by the public relations office at the navy yard, .-Lieutenant Commander Marvin began active duty with the navy April 8, 1941 after having served several months with Brig.-Gen. Charles F. Bowen, state director of Selective service. While op.^dutyin Concord he was given regularstaff assignments. *While the transfer is a temporary one, it is believed that Commander Marvin will be assigned to special duty at an unstated destination..Son of Former MayorHe is the son of Former Mayor and Mrs. William E.
