THREEBULL RUN BOYSStillwater, Minn., July 13. United Press)—Three survivors fromamong a group of 34 soldiers who forty years ago agreed to meetevery year until none was left, will gather around a bottle of rare oldwine July 21.The wine, renter of two score celebrations during the course of which 31 of the soldiers have died, is rare burgundy, preserved in cherry wood casing to be opened only when there are but two survivors of theLast Man's club.This year there will be another chair draped in black in memory of another comrade who surrenderedto old age and death after winning from the enemy on the battle field. Since the club met here lastyear around the dinner table another comrade died.Emil Graff, St. Cloud, Florida, for many years was unable to bepresent at reunions, but he has always sent a message of hope and cheer. Last March he died. Andthis year there will be only threesurvivors, John Goff, St. Paul; Peter Hall, Atwater, Minn., and CharlesLockwood, Chamberlain, S. I).Organized 25 years after the Bat-tie of Bull Run in which the mein-] bers took part, the club was formedby members of B Company, First Minnesota Infantry. For severalyears the original 34 members met. Then sickness and increasing age began to claim their toll.This year’s banquet will find 31 chairs draped in black for those who have died and there will be cardsbearing the nnmes of those whofought as boys at Bull Run. Everything will be as it has been for thepast two or three years except there will be no message of “health andgood cheer” from Emil Graff.
