PROMOTED IN KOREAWITH THE 45TH INFANTRY DIV. IN KOREA — Vernon S. Cowan, son of Mr. and Mrs. O. C. Cowan, Tarboro, N. C., was recently promoted to private first class while serving in Korea with the 45th Infantry Division.Cowan, whose wife, Frances, lives at 342 Clay st., Tarboro, is a mechanic in Service Battery of the 158th Fi.eld Artillery Battalion.
