Ohioan On Lost Submarine, SafeWOOSTER, July 12—Mr. and Mrs.; Lawrence D. Wade of nearby Apple' Creek have just received a letteri from their son. Machinist Mate' Robert Wade, formerly of Wooster,! revealing he was not loet at seaas presumed.John E. Dugan of Wooster has received information his son PFC John Edward Dugan, jr., is a prisoner of war.Mr. and Mrs. Wade were informed their son is well and awaiting a new assignment on the east coast. The War Department had reported it was presumed his crew was lost with a submarine a year ago.Wade has been on active sea duty since Jan. 15.Dugan received a telegram fromthe War Department in which itis reported the Red Cross has learned his son. is in a Japanese prison camp in the Philippines.
