O. Fields, 87, stepped out of a second story window and fell off a porch, suffering fractures of both forearms, a broken leg and internal injuries. Her recovery was said to be very doubtful.Appleton—A thief dug up by the roots six valuable blue spruce trees from the lawn of John Ryan’s residence near here. The trees, valued at $100, were from six to ten years old and were of the type used in landscape decorating.Eau Claire—Fire caused by the explosion of gasoline used in starting a fire in the kitchen stove resulted in the death of Miss Myrtle Bovee, 27, of Fairchild, near here, and serious injuries to a 14-year-old boy who tried to rescue her.Washburn—Miss Gladys Harris of Milwaukee has been chosen Bayfield county nurse to succeed Miss Palline Bogler.Rhinelander—For the first time in many years Oneida county democrats I will have a complete ticket for county officers.Darlington—The site of old Fort Hamilton, which stood 100 years ago where the village of Wiota now stands, will be the scene of a centennial celebration July 20.Green Bay—Two orchestras, one of 20 and another of 11 musicians, and a band of 80 pieces are being developed at the Green Bay state reformatory for boys under supervision of Music Director Alex Enna.Superior—Children of high school age in towns throughout Douglas county who have been attending school in Superior will not be permitted to return next fall if their respective towns do not pay delinquent tuition fees. Town clerks have been notified by the Superior school board.Rhinelander—While fishing with a gill net at one of the lakes near this city, C. Jelenek, Chicago, was arrested by Conservation Warden A. J. Robinson.
