Pomeroy, clambered Into three trBlns under the old depot at daybreak yesterday morning, and pulled out for Chickajnauga to join the rest of the state mllltla and regular* who will play at the gam of war for ten daya.Fully 2,500 men of the stat* militia und 2,000 of the regulars have assembled at Chlckamaugua park for the maneuvers, and the encampment will be In apple pie order for action when the taps are sounded this morning.Sbftn Sn1tli Today.This afternoon tne first sham battle Is scheduled to come off between the mllltla boys and' the regulars. and every day will see the soldier boys at practical study of wTir tactics.Gen. Albert L. Mills. commander of the department of the gulf. Is Jn charge of the camp, with Gen. Clfford L, Anderson, of Atlanta, In command of th© state mllltla. The latter will direct three regiments, two squads of cavalry, two field batteries, and the governor’s horse guard in the battles that are to be fought with the regulars.The Atlanta delegation formed at tho auditorium-armory and marched to the Union depot. At the early hour a Inrgo crowd was present to sea the Fifth leave. With the exception of the Marietta rifles, the Firth regiment was complete, and the attendance of the ilate mllltla at the encampment is aald to be larger than un any previous occasion.Two of the three trains required to transport the Fifth want via ihe Seaboard. and the third over the Western and Atlantic.
