Georgetown Soldier ReturnsHarold Helmeke Gets Discharge From ArmyHarold Helmeke, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Helmeke, Georgetown, has temporarily resumed farming on his fathers farm following receipt of an honorable discharge from the army air forces.Helmeke, one of five brothers in service, has recently returned to the United States after more than four years in service, three of them overseas.He served in the north African and Italian campaigns and had 95 discharge points to his credit and held the rank of sergeant when discharged. He has been in Italy since October, 1943, as a technical inspector with the Twelfth air force.Entering service in, June, 1941, he received his training at Fort Leonard Wood and Jefferson Barracks, Mo.; Chanute field, 111.; and Greenville, Mass.Four younger brothers are still in the service. They are: Sergeant Loren A.
