Still he wanted to become u soldier and made application in another direction, the navy,In this he was more successful,He began the service at Chicago. It appears that he has seen considerable service during the year nr more that lie has “sailed the ocean blue.” Information hag been received from the govern ment authorities stating that he had deserted at Sidney, Australia, May 21, ]!)01.
