11 Fliers Escape Death In Texas Bomber CrashGONZALES — (UP) — A B-29 Superfortress crashed about six miles southwest of Gonzales today but all 11 Air Force crew members parachuted to safety and escaped uninjured.The plane’s comamnder, Lt. William T. Foster, said the aircraft’s No. 4 engine burst into flames shortly after the plane left Randolph Air Force Base near San Antonio;He said he leveled the plane off, but he and his crew^men were unable to extinguish the fire.Lt. Foster then ordered the men to jump. “Every member followed instructions and we got out in record time,” he said.-The plane struck the ground near the tiny community of Bee-*be. The Air Force pien made their way to a highway and hitchhiked into Gonzales.
