Jeffrey Scott TaylorOn Tuesday, June 28, 2005, America lost a Hero. Petty Officer 1st Class Jeffrey Scott Taylor, 30, a Navy SEAL, was killed in a helicopter crash in Af-ghanistan while protecting and serving our country.Jeff was born May 18, 1975, in Beckley.He was the son of Jim and Gail Bowman of Midway and John Taylor of Rainelle.Jeff was a 1994 graduate of Independence High School where he was a member of the wrestling team and track team. Jeff enlisted in the Navy while still in high school with intentions of becoming a Navy SEAL which he accomplished in June 2000 along with many other military service awards.
