It was anextension of an agreement that Continental had held.The contract started in 19G4. Continental uses intercontinental Golden Jet Boeings 320Cs for the flights.The company received its third and fourth jets for these flights in June.The contract flights operate from Travis AF Base to Thailand, SauLh Viet Nam, I h e Philippines, Okinawa, Japan, Korea, Guam arid Hawaii.The jet pianos cost $7.5 million each. Each can carry 165 passengers or 90,000 pounds asan all-cargo aircraft. 1The 320C has a range of more than 5,000 miles. It is powered by lour Pratt Whitney lan-jet engines. The plane has a fuel capacity of 23,855 gallons.The length of the aircraft is 152 feet 11 inches; wing span 145 Jcet 9 inches; tail height 42 feet, 5 inches; and fuselage w i d t h 12 feet, 4 inches.Personnel OverseasThe Boeing 32DC is used inlerehangablv over the eom-pany's U.S. system and for theMATS contract flights across the Pacific to the Orient,To service its planes and flights, Continental has stationed its personnel on Guam, at Clark AF Ease in the Philippines, at Saigon, Bangkok, Honolulu and .in Japan and Korea.One of the long Orient flights made by Continental is 6,657 miles from Travis AF Base to Clark AF Base in the Philippines.
