TWO GERMAN WARPRISONERS FLEESearch Is On For Nazis WhoEscaped From GettysburgPrison Camp Monday—Descriptions GivenA search through Pennsylvania and neighboring states continued today for two German prisoners who escaped on Monday from the war prison camp at Gettysburg.While several reports of the two men having been seen have been received, up until this afternoon neither had been anurehcnded.Federal Bureau of Investigation agents, under the direction of John F. Sears, chief of the Philadelphia office, assumed charge today of the man hunt. State police, Army authorities, police in cities in Pennsylvania and Maryland have been on the lookout for the pair since late Monday afternoon, when the news of their escape was broadcast.The escaoed men are:c\Thomas Kostaniak, 27, former, German Infantry sergeant. His serial number is 8563. He is five feet, r six inches in height, weighs 154 pounds, and has blue eyes, a fair complexion and light brown hair. He is smooth shaven, has a prominent nose, no scars and- is in good physical condition. He is a Catholic. He speaks German and very little English,(Axel Ostermaier, 22, former German Infantry sergeant. His serial number is 115070. He is five feet, six and one-half inches in height! weighs 161 pounds, and has blue ] lt;•eyes, a fair complexion and blond hair. He is described as very good looking,*’ and has a youthful expression. He has an elementary education, is a Catholic and by trade Is a confectioner.Both men were wearing blue denim overalls with the initials P.
