Wright of Spirit Lake, will be interested to know that he is serving now at an aeroplane base located at Anchorage, Alaska. We quote: “There is little love connected with flying the greater part of the night through dangers untold just to bag” one's limit of Nazis before breakfast. If that is love, then, we have a misconception of our former war experience. We believed it was our love for our country that caused us to hate our enemy. It was our fear of the enemy’s strength that gave us courage to crush him, together with our great sense of duty to our country—and our pride against meeting defeat. This character of our men was rounded out through discipline of our training. Now, instead of the Kaiser’s head they are after it's Hitler's.His last letter to his parents says: “Our Mess is O. K., the [beds are good. I have ten woolen (•blankets on mine, and our camp is equipped with a shower bath. We have nothing to do but work 'and so, there is nothing to want for.Friends can write him, in care of [ Morrison-Knudsen Co., Inc.
