Official Program For July FourthFollowing is the official program for Jefferson County’s Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Homeooming to be held here next Friday.9:30—Band Concerts in City Park.10:30—Grand Military Review by C apt. Mao Vicar, of Returned Soldiers, Sailors, Marines and Nurses. Old Soldiers in Decorated Automobiles followed by Pageant of Floats. Parade starts from West Broadway at 10:30 and ends at Chautauqua Park.11:30 to 12:15—Exercises in Chautauqua Auditorium.“Star Spangled Banner”—Band and Audience.Address of Welcome—A. G. Jordan, Chr. of day.Address—Capt. Mao Vicar, of Des Moines, Iowa, sesretary of the American Legions.Presentation of Medals—J. B. Trent, Chairman of Board of Supervisors.Registration of Soldiers at Headquarters Tent.12:15—General Picnic Dinner.1:30—Band Concert in Auditorium2:00—Address of the Day—Lieut. W. R. Hart, Jr., of Iowa City.2:30 to 6:00—Boxing, Wrestling, Vaudeville, and other show attractions on two platforms with band music on band stand and in auditorium.6:30—Grand Banquet for all Returned Service Men and Their Ladies. All Stand and Sing “America,” Accompanied by Band.7:30 to 9:00—Show Attractions and Band Music.9:00—Fireworks—The Most Magnificent Display Ever Shown in This Community.The Orpheum and Victory Theatres will admit men in uniform and their ladies free of charge.There will be no charge whatever, for admission to Chautauqua Park on July 4th. Everybody is welcome. There will be no charge for parking cars, checking baskets .or any other feature arranged for by the Homecoming committee.
