G. Stigler.Clearance was issued yesterday at Stilgler’s request by Jess Larson, Administrator of the War Assets Administration at Washington, in a telegram * directing the Dallas WAA office to give “particular attention” to school districts whose applications for buildings were deferred when the War Department “froze” the orders for dismantling the camp in February.“There appears no necessity for. readvertising such property to priority holder,” Larson told Stigler. The Congressman explained that numerous school districts were engaged in removing Camp Gruber structures at the time of the “freeze.”Stopping the removal was caused by a decision of the Air Force to use Camp Gruber if Congress passed a universal military training law. Passage of the draft bill instead made use of the camp unnecessary.Stigler declared, however, that the War Department has not released the Camp. Gruber and Greenleaf Lake arbas. While it is disposing of the war-built structures, it is retaining the land as well as the permanent buildings at Greenleaf Lake for an indefinite period.School districts whose priorities for 45 buildings have been reinstated are: Haskell, First Lutheran Day School, Muskogee; Ren-tiesville, McIntosh County Separ ate School, Webbers Falls, Porter, Porum, Cherokee County Separate School, Okmulgee, Sallisaw, Checotah, Wagoner.
