Two Years In War; Loses LegGrafton, N. D., July L—After two years In the Canadian Expeditionary forces in France, Elmer Ofstedahl, son of Mrs. J. iL Ofstedahl, of this city, has relurneu home. He enlisted at Swift Current, Sask., April 8, 1916, being promoted to platoon sergeant after a few' weeks in service.Sergeant O/stedahl received a slight wound In the battle of Fresnoy in France, remaining in the hospital nine days. In the battle of Paaschen-dale, Belgium, some time later, he received two bullets in his leg in a charge, one of which shattered the bone and made amputation of the limb necessary. After several months In military hospitals and convalescent camps, he was given an honorable discharge, and sent home.
