Hendrickson. of Norwalk ■was here this week with former college friends at Ohio university savs a special to the Pla n Dealer from Athens. For three ears Lieut. Hendrickson was one of the most fa nious Ohio athletes, having starred in baseball, fotball. basketball and track work, being capta n of the lirst three at Ohio university.For two rears he was premier college pitcher in tie* state, Lieut Hendrickson was commissioned at the hist Fort Hen Harrison camp and atonce went to France 'with the old S xteenth regiment of regu!ars of the First division He saw a year of hard fighting in France before being wounded and gass**d At Fantigny L*ut. lien dr.ckson had his closest call With three other officers and three privates, he was in a dugout when t German shell came through the door. Ad three officers were killed, the privates wei *• wnunded and Hendrickson escaped without injury.
