For the past nineteen months he has been in France, and he is now here for a fourteen-day leave with his father, . Albert Wacker, of this city. jAfter Ids enlistment on Aug. 13, | 1016, in Milwaukee, Seaman Wacker went to the Great I^akes Naval training station for eight months of training. When this country entered the war he was able to take hisplace as a competent Hlue Jacket in th*- service of his country. |Among: the many interesting experiences, which he has had in hisperiod of service, was that of being in the first rescue boat to go to theaid of the Corona in distress off thecoast of France in April, 1918.He has been on a destroyer and has seen England, France, Italy. Portugal, Gibraltar. the Azore Islands, Bermuda and other places While in France, Jie made three trips to Paris.
