S FC WILLIE E. WINDHAM AMONG SOLDIERS PRESUMED DEAD IN KOREAThe Defense Department recently released a lkt of names previously listed as missing in action in Korea, who are now presumed to be dead.Among those listed were S/PC Willie E. Windham, whose wife resides In Columbus, Ga. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Windham, and a brother of Mrs. D. J. Goolsby of this community. He was bom and reared in this community and attended Timpson High School.According to information given this paper S/FC Windham has been missing in Korea sfaioe August 12, 1950. Hkname failed to show up on any of the communist prisoner of war lists and he was not found during the exchanges. He served with the artillery and had been stationed at Hawaii before going overseas. Hb wife and children lived in Hawaii two years before moving to Columbus, Ga. His three children are Linda Jo, Edna Mae and WiHiam Edward. -Sgt Windham entered th* s rvice in 1939 and serveu during World War II. He, and '..oof his brothers, Curtis C. Windham and Murray Wr Jham were in service toge’uer at Pearl Harbor at the time of the bombing Dec. 7, 1941.
