t Capt. Thomas D. Whitlock, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Whitlock of Marshall, formerly of Saline county, a paratrooper commanding Co. D of the 503rd Airborne Regimental Combat team, recently departed from Fort Campbell. Ky., with his unit for Alaska to participate in the major Army maneuver, Exercise Snowbird. The maneuver will test the endurance of U. S. troops and weapons in Arctic areas. At *the completion of the exercises, which will last approximately four weeks, the 503rd ARCT will return to Fort Campbell.
