Joseph Wheeler, who is ill with pneumonia at the home of his sis* ter in Brooklyn, was in such a critical condition at midnight that the members of his tamily had almost abandoned hope and his death was not unlooked for. Gathered at the bedside at that hour were all the children—Maj. Jos. Wheeler, Jr., Mrs. W. J. Harris and the Misses Anna, Lucile and Carrie Wheeler.
