They are holding an engraved 40mm Howitzer shell presented to the general by the group and engraved by Sturkol. Besides this deployment to Karshi-Khanabad Air Base in Uzbekistan, Sturkol previously worked on Gen. Buchanan’s public affairs staff at CENTAF-Forward Headquarters in Qatar in 2003. Sgt. Sturkol is a native of Wakefield, deployed from Grand Forks Air Force Base, N.D.
