General Francisco L. Urquizo, under secretary of national defense, by a highranking XL S. Army Air forces officer.The personnel of nearly 300 Mexican officers and enlisted men had to pass rigid competitions and tests for eligibility prior to the squadron’s entry into the United States in July, 1944, at Laredo.Major Gen.
